The adventures of Flo, the Progressive insurance spokeswoman dressed in white, touting the virtues of the company's pricing and option models, may just not be the same with the passing of the company's visionary leader over the weekend.Chairman Peter B. Lewis passed away over the weekend of heart attack, according to several media sources.
Lewis, 80, was Progressive's chief executive officer for 35 years taking over the company from his father, Joe Lewis in 1937. He stepped down in 2000 and was named non-executive chairman.
Lewis will be replaced by CEO Glenn Renwick, 58.
